Houhora Tavern is situated on one of the most beautiful harbours in the world where the views from the Tavern extend out to the harbour and across to Mt Camel. Whether it be high or low tide, the native Spoonbills and many other bird species inhabit the harbour shore in front of the Tavern. On the high tide mullet are seen jumping and if you are lucky enough during the spring tides, the giant Orca's are seen in the harbour hunting stingrays.
We have now opened a cafe providing freshly ground espresso coffee, home baked cakes, biscuits, popular chunky beef, lamb to name a few and other variety home made pies and supply a variety of tasty light meals. All day breakfast and freshly made sandwiches to order. Outdoor seating enables you to take in the spectacular views. Play a game of pool or darts as you enjoy a glass of ale and you may even wish to browse over our collection of mounted fish or our salt water aquarium which mirrors a rock pool with native sea life.
